Tucson, AZ – Shanee Page has informed Pima County School Superintendent Dustin J. Williams of her resignation from the Altar Valley Elementary School District Governing Board effective March 3, 2026.
“I would like to personally thank Ms. Page for her dedication and service towards education in the Altar Valley community. I wish her much success in her new endeavors. Our office will help expedite the governing board vacancy process going forward,” said Superintendent Williams.
As per ARS 15-302, “within thirty days after notification of a vacancy, the school district governing board may submit up to three names to the county school superintendent for consideration of an appointment to fill the vacancy. The county school superintendent is not required to appoint a governing board member from the list of names submitted by the governing board.”
Out of respect to the process, Pima County School Superintendent Williams will now review and consider any qualified candidate who is interested in filling the vacancy.
Qualified candidates who would like to be considered for the vacancy must submit an affidavit of qualification and candidate appointment questionnaire to the Pima County School Superintendent’s Office by April 9, at 5:00 pm. The application packet can be found at: http://www.schools.pima.gov/elections. The completed packet may be hand-delivered to our office at 200 N. Stone Ave. or emailed to matthew.stamp@pima.gov.
All applications will be thoroughly reviewed and considered by Superintendent Williams and his leadership team.
The appointment will begin on the date of appointment and will continue through December 31, 2026. This position will be on the November 2026 General Election Ballot as a four-year term.
